To Whom This May Concern:
In this portfolio lies the work I have completed in my Englisth 629 course on Writing Assessment in Higher Education. You will find it ints contents: this cover letter, a few reading responses I have completed throughout the course, my TedTalk on On a Scale: A Social History of Writing Assessment in America by Norbert Elliot pages 257-360, an edited video of my class participation, a blog post reflecting on our informal assesssment activies, my personal assessment philosophy and sample rubrics I utilize in my classes. I hope as you read this e-portfolio you will see my full complete thoughts on assessment and how they informed my assessment pholosophy. I hope you see my drive for fairness, desire for community creation in the classroom, and passion for helping my students become the best writers they can be.
I find this e-portfolio a great tool as it really solidifies what I state and believe in my teaching potfolio. Takes things a bit furhter than my teaching portfolio allows and paints a fuller picture of who I am as an instructor. I learned a lot in this class about the importance of assessment, e-portfolios as an assessment tool, and how to be the instructor I want to be, and wish I had had when I was younger and struggling. I thank you for reading it and if you have any questions about it feel free to email me at rckurasz@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
